Tower of Babel - one language - seeking to touch the heavens with a tower, to see what they could build, not God.  God confused their language so they could not understand each other.

Abram is born, takes Sarai as his wife, as they are traveling to Egypt, he tells Sarai to say she is Abram's sister so they will not kill him.  God tells them she is Abram's sister, and they "request him to leave" and they do not harm his belongings.  Lot is with them as well.

They divide their properties because they have much and their servants are not getting along.

God tells Abram of his destiny and has him look as far as he can to see how much will be his.  Abram builds an altar to God to sacrifice
